Ijohn is an independent artist, born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. He is an artist with a versatile musical style ranging from Rap/Reggae to boombap (Hip-Hop) to trap(Hip-Hop). In the short time he has been involved with the music industry, he has released two free mixtapes, both of which received overwhelming positive responses as well as having tracks from the second project Eternal receive airplay on 89.5. 
The young entrepreneur has not only had experience on air but has songs reaching “plays” within the thousands on his Soundcloud account(@ijohn021).
He has released several high quality Music videos, one of which was short listed for airplay on Trace. His musical achievements are among opening for E-Jay, making it into the top four of Cape Towns premier battle league Own The Block’s Don’t Choke tournament, performing on almost every stage in the city including The former Assembly, Chez Temba, Mercury and The Waiting Room, naming the more popular ones, as well as planning a South African Tour to take place in December. With an incredibly diverse style and electrifying live performance, ijohn has gained a strong following and has gained many loyal supporters.
Appearing on Bush Radio, CTV and UCT radio, featuring in “Ja” online magazine as well as being named in OkayAfricas “Top 25 MC’s under 25’list, he has not gone unnoticed. He is the founder of the social movement Down South Natives which plays an active role in community outreach programs as well as being ½ of the rap/reggae duo The Unoriginals..
