Mermans Mosengo is a percussionist, guitarist and singer. He has travelled throughout Africa and more recently throughout the Unites States with the internationally acclaimed “Playing for Change” group where he was a featured artist playing alongside the great Ziggy Marley.

His music is authentic with a strong reggae influence and is a firm favourite with trendy crowds. He lives in Cape Town and regularly travels to Jamaica and the United States for live music recordings.

Mermans Mosengo, together with his band Afro Fiesta, is a rising star and a renowned musician.

Mermans joined the Young Bakuba Band as a drummer and bass guitar player. After a year in the band he found that his independence and musical style were being limited and so he branched out on his own as a solo artist in 1999.

He was soon in high demand doing solo gigs at various Cape Town venues, however, he decided that he preferred a band set-up and assembled what is now a highly regarded multi-cultural band.
